31 WEEKS - OUR DELICIOUS PINEAPPLE

March 31, 2013

  WEEK 31 | PRINCESS IS THE SIZE OF A PINEAPPLE | 16.7 INCHES | 3.8 LBS

THIS WEEK..... Not too much growing (weight wise for her) went on from last week to this week because baby girl's brain, nerves & eyes are going through so many changes.  Her irises now respond to light and all of her 5 senses work!!

MOMMY SYMPTOMS (from The Bump)
  • Out of breath, since baby keeps squishing your lungs. (YES)

  • Dry, brittle nails, thanks to all that extra nail growth. (NO)

  • Braxton Hicks contractions. Be sure you're drinking plenty of water and changing positions often. (YES)

  • Leaky boobs. That's baby's first food, called colostrum. (NOT YET)

  • Frequent urination. Your bladder's just as crowded as your lungs. (YES)

  • Back aches. Be sure to keep stretching. (YES)

  • Difficulty sleeping. Aches and pains, your big belly, pregnancy hormones, heartburn and anxiety are probably all contributing. (YES)

How far along? 31 Weeks 2 Day

Total weight gain or loss: 28 lbs

Maternity clothes?  Yes.  Can fit in some of my pre-preg sweats and some tops not pants.

Stretch marks? On my boobs waaaaaaah!!!

Sleep:  Same as last week.  It's rough.  Sleeping on my side is excruciating on my hips and at this point I flop from side to side like a beached whale.  The belly is painful when I switch sides because of the ligaments stretching.  But its ALLLLL worth it!!!  Been sleeping upright as long as I can.

Best moment this week: Feeling her switch positions and her little parts poking places that are higher up then before.  It comforts me and lets me know she is really growing in there.

Miss Anything?  Laying on my belly.

Movement: Yes. I'm on cloud nine every time I feel her.  I am starting to poke back, talk more and really interact with her.

Food cravings: Still.....Lemon Ice, fruit, salad, carrots.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.

Symptoms:  Sore boobs.  Just waiting for them to start leaking.  I hear that's coming up!!  Fun!!

Belly Button in or out?  Belly button?  What belly button?

Happy or Moody most of the time:  HAPPY AS CAN BE

Looking forward to:  Seeing our baby girl at our next ultrasound...in a couple weeks.  I just need to set it up around 32 weeks.

Nursery Inspiration - Take 2

March 24, 2013

So we did some thinking over the past couple months and after some back and forth about bedding...because Jeff and I have different styles... we came to an agreement.

We are really going for a girly, vintagey, boho-esque look for Princess's room.  We are going with pale pink walls and all white accents with pops of color from other decorations here and such as a lamp shade, knobs, finnials, baskets & possibly a rug.  The bedding that we both decided on is from Pottery Barn Kids and has pinks, aquas, brown and white.

I love the look and the colors of the pink and aqua together.  We want her space to be her oasis.  I have always been against very vivid and super stimulating colors and use of black in a baby's room.  It needs to be a calm and inviting place that they like to "be" and sleep in.

I'm beyond OBSESSED with these sheers for the window.  The ruffles are perfect and actually coordinate with her bed skirt which will be ruffles too.  Love love love....sooooo girly!!

Jeff actually picked out this rose covered lamp, which I though was adorable.  He's really loving his girly girl already!!

30 WEEKS!!!

March 23, 2013

WEEK 30 | PRINCESS IS THE SIZE OF A HEAD OF AN ENGLISH CUKE | 16.7 INCHES | 3.8 LBS

THIS WEEK.... Princess's skin is smoothing out and much less wrinkly then before because of the fat growing, her brain is also growing and she can now grasp a finger!!

MOMMY SYMPTOMS (from The Bump)

  • Heartburn, which might be making sleep hard to come by. (YES)

  • Swelling -- it's totally normal, as long as it's not sudden or severe.  (NO)

  • General discomfort, thanks to your big belly. (YES)

  • Shortness of breath. Those lungs just keep getting more crowded, right? (YES)

  • Trouble sleeping, which leads to another issue: Fatigue. (YES)

  • Weird, vivid dreams. One word (a familiar one): Hormones. (NO)

I have been slacking with the posts, actually not slacking but I have been SOOOOO BUSY with work!

Noone can believe the size of my belly these days.  It's funny how many people just smile when they see my bulging belly.  Or say WOW any day now huh?  And I'm like "not really 10 more weeks!"  Holy FUCKBALLS...only 10 more weeks!

Growing!!

No pants!!

What I eat every morning...

How far along? 30 Weeks 3 Day

Total weight gain or loss: 26 lbs

Maternity clothes?  Yes.  Can fit in some of my pre-preg sweats and some tops not pants.

Stretch marks? On my boobs waaaaaaah!!!

Sleep:  It's rough.  Sleeping on my side is excruciating on my hips and at this point I flop from side to side like a beached whale.  The belly is painful when I switch sides because of the ligaments stretching.  But its ALLLLL worth it!!!

Best moment this week: Seeing my monkey's booty pop out from my belly, I could totally tell that's what it was bc I felt her head and her feet earlier that day.

Miss Anything?  Unwinding after a stressful day with a glass of wine.  I also miss being upside down in crazy yoga poses.

Movement: Yes. There is nothing more amazing in this world then feeling an actual life growing inside of me.  Every jab, kick and glide is a reality check that Jeff and I created this little person out of love.... She is getting so strong and it can actually be a little uncomfortable but its still THE coolest thing EVER!

Food cravings: Lemon Ice, fruit, salad.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.

Symptoms:  Sore boobs.

Belly Button in or out?  Belly button?  What belly button?

Happy or Moody most of the time:  On CLOUD 9!

Looking forward to:  Seeing our baby girl at our next ultrasound...in a few weeks.  Can't wait to see who she looks like and if her head is covered in hair like me or bald like Jeff!!

25 Weeks - WOW Only 15 More Weeks Left (if that!!)

February 16, 2013

WEEK 25 | PRINCESS IS THE SIZE OF A HEAD OF CAULIFLOWER | 14.8 INCHES | 2.2 LBS

THIS WEEK..... Our little monkey's hair is growing in!!  That is if she takes after me!!  Jeff was born a baldy and I was born with a full head of hair.  I'm hoping she has hair so I can style it from day 1!  Apparently she knows what way is up and what way is down, that's kinda cool!  Her nervous system is developing fast.

15 more weeks!!!

How far along? 25 Weeks 1 Day

Total weight gain or loss: 22 lbs

Maternity clothes?  Yes absolutely.  Can fit in my pre-preg sweats and some tops not pants.  Those are LONG GONE!!

Stretch marks? On my boobs waaaaaaah!!!  Just a couple on the underside.  I guess they are growing more then I ever expected.

Sleep:  Sucks d*ck!!  Apparently it should only get worse so at least I have that going for me.  I’m a belly sleeper so sleeping on my side is very challenging and after a while my hip that I’m laying on BURNS so then I switch sides, it’s a vicious cycle.

Best moment this week: Getting the sweetest card from Jeff and 3 dozen roses, 2 dozen for me and 1 dozen for our princess.  He spoils his girls!!

Miss Anything?  Wine & Sushi,  cannot wait to order a spicy tuna roll!

Movement: Yes.  It’s the most amazing feeling in this world.  I literally do not care about anything going on when I feel her move.  It’s like nothing else matters but her, our miracle growing inside my belly.  Her movements are SO STRONG now, soon I think I will see her tiny body parts glide long my belly.

Food cravings: Pancakes & waffles.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing.  Sometimes things people do gross me out.  Coughing, hacking & that phlegm noise make my skin crawl……weird I know.  So you can imagine with this weather and everyone getting sick how grossed out I am all day long….on the bus, at work, everywhere.

Symptoms:  Sore boobs.

Belly Button in or out?  In but flat.

Happy or Moody most of the time: So f@cking happy J

Looking forward to:  Every day I feel my baby thriving inside of me.  Every single day is a blessing to me.  Counting the days until the third trimester….2 more weeks left of the second tri, it’s starting to fly!!
